Serious Gaming?

A serious game or applied game is a game that has been designed for other purposes than pure entertainment. Serious games are not a game genre but a category of games that all have different meaning.

The most known form of serious games are learning games. Games can however used for many other purposes, for example, for advertising, designing or training doctors to perform surgery by using virtual simulations.

Serious games are often used to simulate and describe things that would be too difficult, too expensive or even too dangerous to try out in reality. This includes games like flight simulations and simulations armies use in their training.

The "serious" adjective is generally prepended to refer to products used by industries like defense, education, scientific exploration, health care, emergency management, city planning, engineering, and
politics. [Wikipedia]

However "serious" doesn´t always have to mean boring.
"Serious" games allow users to learn something
while they are having fun.
